Headliner repair using wooden battens

Hello Michael......Glad you had a good experience there, with the glue. You
must be very skillful.

Heard several stories about how it was necessary to remove all that loose
foamy stuff and old adhesive, and it looked like a problem for my limited
capabilities...so, I took a road less traveled. The battens were clean and
easy and they circumvented the issue of removing the old foam and adhesive.
Besides, I have an personal aversion to messing about with adhesives in the
cabin. I'm clumsy and spill things (visions of blobs of glue running down
my elbows onto the leather seats and carpeting, or overspray on all the
windows and cabin trim.) Sticky issue/overwild imagination? Do what you do
best.

So far, the battens are holding up the headliner, and I like the way it looks.

Doyt
