electric seat problems 88 5ktq

I seem to have some sort of short in my drivers side seat.  I hear a clicking
sound intermittantly from the seat when seated in it.  I can put pressure on
the seat bottom to get these sounds to occur.  When I looked underneat the
seat I saw what looks like a relay (brown in color) where there is an
electrical connection.  Is this the likely culprit or maybe the motor? Has
anyone had this problem?  How would I check this?  I just bought a voltmeter
guage deal and it would be great if someone could point out what to be looking
for in terms of amps or volts.  Thank you so much.  I've had great luck so far
with advice from listees and want to thank everyone in advance
