Some guesses:
1. You're using a company server to email the list, and the listserver is
having problems getting through the firewall (recent server/firewall
upgrade?  Some companies are getting very aggressive) and the list server is
auto-unsubscribing you.
2. Your email provider's mail server isn't configured correctly, and the
list is occasionally unable to reach you, and the list server is
auto-unsubscribing you.
3. Your mail box is occasionally full, the list messages bounce, and the
list server is auto-unsubscribing you.
4. The list server's mail server time-outs are causing problems still? (...
and the list server is auto-unsubscribing you!)
5. Reverse DNS problems on your mail server (not the list's) are causing
messages from the list to you to bounce, and... you get the drift.

I've had something related to this happen to me in cases where I was unable
to email vendors because their mail servers weren't set up to reverse DNS.
Nothing got through until we were able to convince the vendor's ISP to
properly configure their mail servers.

... and, 6. Aliens have infiltrated your ISP and are conducting an
experiment to test your ability to deal with stress.  Just wait'll they
start stealing your hubcaps...

BTW, the dummy fog lamps area about halfway through mastering.  Travis has
seen the first of the molds.  More news soon.
