Pearl V8 5-speed

Anyone who drives a 5 speed will tell you it accelerates on par with a
4.2. The cams are different, as is the Motronic coding. The BMW is also
220 pounds heavier with its 296 hp. It may edge out the V8 in straight
line accelleration, but to me that's only one small part of the
equation. My V8 doesn't get 12 mpg in town and 18 highway either like
the BMW did...

I still say the statement made by the seller was accurate. Audi's own
literature describes its desire to move upscale with the V8,
specifically comparing it to BMW 750 and Mercedes 560. I like BMWs and
Mercs, but I'll take my V8 quattro(s) in any weather... I rode in my
cousin's brand new 560 SEC back then and the acceleration of that moose
flat astonished me - and it had less hp than the V8q...
