Oil filter '85 4kq vrs. '88 80q

Bosch, Fram and all the US  Manufactures all show the same oil filter.
The German(?)filters ...Mahle and Hengst are listed for the '88 80q and Mann
for the 4kq and some only list Bosch for the 4kq and others list Bosch for
both. ( and I thought Audi's biggest problem was with Model identification
names)!
I really don't want to open up a can of worms with the Mann vs. everybody
else argument, but what's the scoop.
