Haydn,

This is more or less what I'm doing with my CGT. The only problem is to
achieve a decent compromise without spending an arm and a leg in the process.
I found the hard way that my rally suspension is pretty good on dirt but it
sucks big time in an autox done in a very sticky concrete surface, but if you
ask me, I still had fun.

It was correctly suggested that you investigate the rule books very carefully
before any first step. An example is that you can't have bolt in cages in SCCA
rally anymore, even if you have a FIA approved Safety Devices one. I would
also suggest that you go out on the net and find plenty people that did what
you are planning to do. We have all sorts of forums/list these days. The site
www.specialstage.com[1] that was mentioned is a great example.

SCCA rule books are available online at their web site (www.scca.org[2]) or
you can order them. I'm not familiar with the other sanctioning bodies, but
shouldn't be difficult to put your hands on their rule books.

The last thing is a common advice all over the place: "...don't build, buy it
ready, it is way cheaper..."

I totally agree, but needless to say that I ignored this correct advice, since
for me building is half the fun. It seems that you are willing to mix grease
and blood, but for the non mechanically inclined. I would follow this advice.

Later,

Carlos.

ps. Scott. Just a thought. Could you get by at ITB with a NG engine instead of
a NF? NG's can be found in CGT's from the factory, and are very close to a NF.
