Evening Audiphiles

In an effort to still get the winter car going while it is still winter I
finally managed to get out to the garage tonight. I found why it wasn't
charging the brand new battery, the alternator was toast and the small wire
to it (signal?) was corroded and broke when touched.

Once this was corrected, the car started on the first crank and ran fine for
a bit. The lifters quieten down after about 10 minutes, woo hoo! But then
the motor started to "loop" buncing in idle between 900 and 1100rpm. After
10 minutes of this she simply died! I could restart and run again no probs
but let it idle for 10 minutes and it stalls again.

Any ideas?
David
