Should I fix it or replace it?

Hi All,
I am trying to decide what plan would be best for my 90 100Q with a dieing
read diff. The drivers side seal has failed and the bearing is howling and
the diff is dry. I am trying to decide whether I should replace the bearing,
seal and hope all is well or if I should replace the diff with one from
force5. My main problem with replacing the bearing and seal is I can feel a
small amount of slackness in the rear diff and it had to be damaged from
dunning dry. I know that replacing the diff on my back with my friend will
be a royal pain but I will have better peace of mind. Which option would you
take, and for those of you that have done a rear diff how hard is it and
what tips do you have?
Ray
