Actually, if you assume you do your own change, and they cost you about
$10 each (for dino oil and so-so filter) you'll have 133 changes in
200,000 miles, which means you'll spend $1,330 on oil changes, plus all
that time. That's not that cheap, if you ask me. Not only that, but oil
changes are not entirely risk free. With each one, there's a small risk
of blowing an oil filter due to a bad filter or incorrect installation.
To top it off, there's not really any difference in lubrication between
1500 mile and 3000 mile oil, provided the engine is running well, and
you're not subjecting it to severe service.
