I don't know if it will fit, but if you really want to do something like that.
You have other options that are cheap and accomplish the same result (IMHO).

When I put my cage I welded a tube between the longitudinal beam's. Remember, my
car is a type 85, so it's a little different, but you still can do something
like I did. (BTW, the cage is also attached to the front of the rear towers)

Another fairly cheap option is a generic bar from Sparco. I had one that I
sold on Ebay last year. It has a 5" plate at each end with two holes for
bolts, these plates have a perpendicular bolt welded to it. This bolt goes in threads
at each end of a bar. So, you have a range of length to work with. Then
finally with the bar in place you can turn the bar until it's firm in place.
