Ah yes, of course... the cash. :) Believe me when I say the idea did
enter my mind, but my current employment situation smacked it down
fairly quickly.
However this is kind of a new thing for me, I've never considered
wrecking a car before and am trying to think of the best way to proceed.
Another fairly minor fender bender had left me with a somewhat different
color bumper for the time being, but it was otherwise quite nice at 145k
mi.
I love the car and would really like to repair and turbo it up, but I
don't see that as a realistic option (funding-wise). Naturally I will
need to put some money into a car anyway, so who knows. I suppose it's
feasible but doing my own installation is above my skill level when put
into terms of finding a timely solution to the issue of reliable
transportation.
I was thinking of offering it up for sale as a parts car. (Or maybe
throwing it in the back yard to part out on ebay, but my room mate will
absolutely despise the concept of another non-running car here.)
Any opinions would be appreciated, I don't have any pictures yet as I
don't have the car here at home but in addition to the crankshaft, my
buddy feels there is also some suspension damage that I haven't even
seen in the daylight yet. All of this is of course undetectable until
you get on your hands and knees or lift up the car... In terms of damage
underneath, let's just say that we caught some air when the impact
occurred, so I'm not too optimistic.
Oh well, at least I finally have a reason to try firing up the 68 Volvo
tomorrow. (weee!)
