A4 outside mirror delamination

OK here's another charactersitic of these cars that is now showing up as
they age.  Before much longer I'll begin to believe I'm a real Audi
owner, like Huw and Brett, and not just a wannabe!

So, it appears that the earlier A4's have the following problems:

  - weak timing belt tensioner (1.8t)
  - iffy tie rod ends
  - door lower edge trim prone to rot
  - rear wheel bearings toast early
  - rattles in headliner
  - door mirror delamination

I'm proud to say my own car has exhibited each and every one of these
fine behaviors.  Today's question is about the last.  I just bought a
new piece of glass from the dealer, and it appears to be identical to
the original-- which means of course, that it'll delaminate in another
four years or so.

So, what should I seal the edges with?
