I've used POR-15 products for over 10 years. Outstanding durability. What
Greg Roa mentioned in getting paint to stick to POR is kind of correct. If
the topcoat of paint is applied in like a 15 to 30 hr window after the
application of the POR; then I have never had adhesion problems. Another
item to do is when you open the can and pour some of the POR out of the can;
some paint will stay in the lip of the can. Carefully clean it out; under no
circumstances put the lid back on the can without putting like a double
layer of wax paper between the can and the lid. If you don't the POR will
bond the lid and can forever.
When used on the underside of the car have not found a need to topcoat the
POR. It is degraded by UV light. When appling it; do it to areas with rust
still on it. If an area is sandblasted; it may stick. It like a rougher
surface; but more so it tends to like rust and makes kind of a chenical
reaction with it.
Wear those gloves or have some paint thinner around.

Subject: POR-15, any experience?
Hello all,
I'm getting my 4kq ready for a repaint, still....
Anyhow, I think I remember someone mentioning POR-15 as a good rust
preventer. I've got some spots on the underbody that I'd like to use
something similar on
Does anyone have any thing good or bad to say about this stuff? They have a
starter kit for $15 I was thinking of getting.
Thanks!
