One or two knock sensors? (MC engine, 200)

If it's early 1989 (model year), you have the mc with single knock
sensor. A knock sensor is an elongated bolt. That's the best
description I can give. It has a wire coming out of it. You'll find
it on the drivers side of the block, somewhere near the engine
mounting ear.
Next way to id an mc2 is to look at the bracket on the firewall that
holds either three or four plugs. It's to the pass side of the coil.
If you have three plugs, it's and mc1. Four, mc2.
The second half of '89 saw the mc2 with the dual knock, higher
compression, and smaller turbo.
I have heard, but have not confirmed a correlation between having an
air bag and the mc2. I heard several times that cars built when the
airbag became available is the mc2 version. Like I said, I can't
confirm it.

Subject: One or two knock sensors? (MC engine, 200)
Hi fellow listers,
Finally got my Bentley...let's fix things up.
I have to identify my kind of engine and Bentley says the two kinds
of MC
engines differ in the number of knock sensors (1 or 2). Well I don't
see any
of them (or I don't know what they are). Manufacturing date is
November 1988
and VIN# is WAUFC5441KN036293. Any help out there?
