Except it's not new.  Volvo has had a high-performance I5 turbo since
the intro of the 850 series.  You've got the 850 R, the T5, and yes,
the V70 R...which has been out for several years.

Other quick volvos include the twin-turbo T6(twin turbo version of
the I6) and the T6 XC90(and you wonder why the allroad went to a V8.
It was the Sweedish riff-raff.)

Oh, and there's also the occasional older 2xx/7xx/9xx cars running
around with Chevy and Ford V8's in 'em.
