Steering Rack rebuilders

Hi Charlie,
A steering rack seal seems to have blown out suddenly on my '87 5ks, so I
gave these folks a call today. They want $325 to reseal the rack if I do
the R&R myself and just take the rack to them. If I drop the car off and
have them do the R&R that would cost an additional $365 and they said to
allow three days... total cost = $690 not incl tax, fluid, etc.
I called Jorgen http://www.jorgenauto.com/ and they have a rack in stock
ready to ship for $205 + $20 shipping including cost to return the core.
This is their price for sale to private individuals... no doubt it would be
lower for sale to a business. I've had excellent service from Jorgen
before and don't mind doing the R&R myself, so they'll get my business this
time as well. I would have preferred to do business with a local firm so
appreciate the tip, but at these prices the choice is clear.
thanks,
Dave C.
