Brakes - 5K wagon

We have three 5TQs.  Two of them have the same problem.

We have changed out everything except the ABS control box.  Also tried
everything else we can think of.  Still the same.

I did take apart a "new" (rebuilt) master cylinder and found a very small
flaw in one of the rubber seals.  This master cylinder is not in the car.

That doesn't sound like the bomb to me- I would expect little effect on
