Greetings Audifans...
Hearing from Unka Bart inspired me to impart a few words on my on again/ of=
f again Audi fixation. I know the feeling...
Got an '87 5kt in Jan '96. Joined the list just after I found out the hard =
way which hydraulic fluid to use in it ($$$)! six months afterward. Great r=
esource for me, as I moved on to a '85 CGT three years later in a futile at=
tempt to rationalize my fleet and drive simpler cars.
Sold the GT in the summer of 2000, unsubbed. Missed the list...
Got a $400 5ktq in May 2002. Got my roommate hooked up too, $300 CGT from t=
he same seller. Predictably these needed a lot of work... back on the list,=
it felt great to be back!
Started hanging out with Ken Keith and his wide and varied four-ringed flee=
t=2E Delved further into the quattrosis accumulatus in January:
I finally feel ready to let on what's up with my '86 5ktq. It's going throu=
gh a "body swap": in January I picked up a '91 200q20v very, very cheaply. =
The reason is because it is missing engine and wiring harness. Not a proble=
m when you have ugly-as-sin, but strong running 5ktq, I figured. The 5000 h=
as, depending on how you look at it, either gotten disemboweled, or has mag=
ically received flush door handles, an upgraded dash, sport interior, BBS r=
ims, and beautiful Indigo paint. It's going back together as we speak.
So much for keeping things simple. I can relate to the urge to stay subbed,=
while temporarily Qless. But fair warning: You likely won't stay that way =
for long.
Regards,
Rob
