stuck 4kq front brake caliper carrier

I'm trying to replace the front brake pads and rotors on my '84 4kq.

I was able to successfully do this on the left front, but not on the right front.

The left front caliper carrier bolts were very difficult to remove.  I ended up using a short length of pipe over the handle of my ratchet (to increase my mechanical advantage), and the tire jack (dont ask!) but the bolts both finally let go.

On the right front caliper carrier, I wasn't so lucky.  These bolts were so stuck, that my Craftsman brand socket actually split!!  I kept at 'em with the box end wrench and a 5 pound hammer, but made no progress.

Does anyone have any tips on removing these most stubborn bolts?
