I would seriously doubt that the A3 wouldn't pass when the sister car (VW
Golf) passes the crash test. I would have to agree with Taka that the
reason the car wasn't imported was the DOT certification and Audi's doubts
that the car would sell well or make their company look less
up-scale. Audi has been trying very hard to regain its upscale image and
they thought the A3 would probably not go well with their image.
