Being a bang-for-the-buck kinda guy, if a $30 valve is good enough for an
11 second 1/4 mile race car, it's good enough for my wagon-- and since
we're fabbing this up either way, I don't have a problem using non-German
parts.

If you're building a serious race car, there are discussions in the
archives about the advantages of piston-type vs diaphragm-type valves
that talk about the others you mention. For a daily-driver street
machine, I'd rather save the extra hundred bucks for pentosin. (-:
