Part Interchange

Hi Dan. My daily driver is an 86 5ktq (very similar to your 87, I'm sure)
and I bought an 84 5kt for parts. Here's a rundown of what I found so far
that I can use:

fenders and hood
I retrofitted the quad 4 lamp system so now I can see at night
front calipers and rotors
sunroof parts - brackets and motor
exterior chrome trim pieces, trunk carpeting
relays, switches and misc lights
radiator would work, but I had just recently bought a new one for the 86.
Incidentally, the rad out of the 84 is all metal.
air conditioning system is going to be transplanted
front coil springs are interchangeable, but might not be as stiff - is this
good or bad? depends on how stiff of a ride you like, I guess.
turbo is useable, but not water cooled
taillight lenses

my parts car also had brand spanking new OEM front brake pads and 4 cheap
but brand new winter tires.
definitely worth the $500 Canadian I paid for it.

rear brakes are definitely NOT the same
hope this helps

good luck

Stephane
