Cheaper MAF sensor source??

Hello,
Well, after over a year of achieving great results (meaning a normally running
engine) by cleaning the once fouled MAF sensor on my '95 90Q V6, I'm once again
starting to see failures from it. Additional cleaning only has a moderate effect so
it seems like it might be time for a new one. Fortunately it's one of the easiest
jobs I could imagine to replace it, but the price of new ones is outrageous. Does
anyone have any recommendations (or spares) on where I can get a reasonably priced
one? Is there another application with the same sensor that would be non-Audi
dollars?
I can find one for ~$400 instead of the dealer's $512, but come on! I'm wondering
if the part comes coupled with the cast aluminum housing that makes it so expensive
(similar Hitachi sensors from Ford & GM are sub $200 from the dealer though).
Unless it's specifically calibrated to the housing, all I really need is the
electronic component. I can pull one from a salvage yard, but if they know what new
ones cost I'm sure they'll charge $200 - I'd rather have the security of new for
that kind of money.
Any advice or suggestions are welcome. By the way, the P/N is 078 133 471A
Thanks,
Joel
