The sport package in these cars (B4 sport) is not just a trim package. It
includes: Shocks, springs and bolstered seats and special cloth seat covers.
The shocks and springs are totally different part numbers from a non-sport.
FA is a great source for making these comparisons. According to some very
rough measurements made in comparison to a non-sport, the car has about a 1"
drop in ride height. Qualitatively, the car has a stiffer ride than a non-S.
It has been described as "bouncy" by some. It doesn't feel very "dialed-in."
I think that it needs even more shock than what the factory put on. I will
be trying Konis in the spring

Caution: If you want to replace the shocks with the factory model, they are
over $250.00 each through various online providers. There are other options.
See recent threads please.

The seats: They are the high bolstered Audi sport seat that has appeared in
many Audis over the years, not the flat ones. For example, B3 20-valves are
always (usually?) equiped with these seats for the US market.

Re: Spark plugs. They are very easy to get to on this car. Other than
needing a smaller socket wench than an I5, they are totally routine.
(Nothing like thespark-plugs for a small-block in a third or fourth
generation Camaro).

Re: Reliability. There are two engines available for the B4. Code AAH and
code AFC. Early AAHs had some issues with lubrication and head gasket
failure. Later AAHs had revisions to these systems carried out at the
factory and the dealerships. Sorry, I do not know vin-splits, which would be
helpful to a buyer like you. AFCs had all of these revisions integrated into
its design as well as many little changes that you only notice when you
order parts for them. They must have been substancial enough to warrant a
code change.

See Eliot Potter's excellent website www.12v-v6.org for more information.
Elliot Potter was working on an engineering degree as I recall, and stated
that he may not be able to update the site for a while, so go easy on him if
it looks like it hasn't been updated lately. Are you an Engineer yet,
Elliot? Come on. Hurry up!
