Unreliable German products! (NAC)

What is it with these German products? I go to make a pot of coffee in my
German made Krups model 261B coffee maker......and it doesn't work,
apparently burned out!

So, I phoned KrupsUSA for replacement parts for the appliance and was told,
parts are no longer available for that model.

Now, wait a minute, I said! This coffee maker is only 20 years old. Krups
repaired it about 10 years ago for a modest fee of $15.00, return shipping
included. There should be replacement parts available into the 22nd century!
Sorry, said the lady with the German accent.

So, it's off to Macy's for a "gasp" Mexican made Krups or Braun coffee maker
for tomorrow's breakfast.

Gosh, I wonder if my 40 year old Blaupunkt shortwave radio still works.
Then, there's my 50 year Leica III-C rangefinder camera.....shutter is
getting slow!
