sloppy shifter - fixed!

Took a look under the car (86 5ktq) on Friday after work. With fellow
lister Tihol shifting the gears, I could clearly see that the collar that's
supposed to be bolted tightly to the tranny shift lever was not bolted very
tightly. Snugged it up with a 10mm wrench and shifting is now very tight
again.
Tihol thought his 90Q was a bit sloppy too, so we took a look at that and,
waddaya know, it was loose too. Different configuration, but still the same
problem.
Thanks to everyone who offered advice/info.
On a related note, I think these cars break down, because you get such a
great feeling when you get them fixed. I was really in a foul mood because
of that sloppy shifting - you know, the old "what now?!" crap. But then,
once it's fixed and you go for a test drive and exercise the turbo a bit,
you're all smiles and saying "I love this car!"
