Coolant

Folks,
As far as I know, the coolant also provides some corrosion protection.
Thus, you'll be shooting yourself in the foot if you run on water only (or
too low concentration of coolant). I find that following the manufacturer's
recommendations to the letter usually gives less trouble.
I mean, come on guys... The cooling system on my 1994 90S is 2.9 gallons.
So I'll need 1.5 gallons of antifreeze. Two bottles of Prestone runs me
around $15 + tax (8.8% in WA). I understand that the Audi stuff is closer
to $17/gal so $34 + tax. A price difference of about $20. Is it really
worth the trouble to save $20 every two years...
I also don't understand why some people insist on buying the cheapest tires
on the market. After all their life depends on he performance of those
tires... But there's so much I don't understand... :-)

>I'm pretty sure the best mix, hot or cold, is 50/50.
