Greetings Audinauts,

If anyone cares... I'm pleased to announce that the number of registered ty=
pe 85s just increased by one. I picked up an '86 CommEd CGT as a Datsun 240=
Z replacement after getting totaled on 4/1/03.

Figured I'd better put my money where my mouth is WRT driving Audis. Althou=
gh I've been fooling with type 44 projects (progressing slowly) for the pas=
t year, I haven't had a five-banger 100% legally registered since June 2000=
. So, it's great to be back. I got the CGT as a $300 basket case just over =
a week ago, and she still has a long way to go before being any kind of spa=
rkling example. But the first hurdle has been cleared. AZ smog is a heck of=
a stumbling block sometimes. And this GT hadn't been on the road for three=
 years!

As for the analog conversion: there currently is oil pressure, temp, volts,=
water temp, and tach functioning in the '85 CGT cluster I picked up for $2=
0=2E I'm still tracking down why having fuel level shown kills the tach- we=
ird, but true.

Now, to figure out what to do about the '91 200q waiting for an engine...

Regards,
Rob
