air bag light on B4 series

Just thought I would pipe in with what I told Mike off-list.
Chances are that the "clock spring" behind the steering wheel has worn
out, thereby causing too much resistance for the airbag computer to be
able to properly communicate with the airbag.

Since the clock spring has to "wind" and "unwind" with each turn of the
steering wheel, eventually the conductors wear out.

The clock spring is just over $300 from Audi, the only source for it.
