David,

I wish this email had come about 6 months from now :o( I have an 87
5KCSTQ, and recently purchased a 91 200TQ that has a crummy unit body.
I'm planning to swap in everything (drivetrain, wiring, interior, etc.)
from the 91 in to my 87 body. This way I'm basically building a 91TQ out
of my 87 body. When I'm done, I'd have most of those parts available.

Where I'm located there's little to no audi's in the wrecking yard, but
you may have better luck. I've been scrounging parts off Ebay, but the
only part I often see on there that would help you would be a whole
instrument cluster. You may see if there's a few audis in yards near you
though, or others on the list may have a parts car laying around.

Good luck--
