ABS Sensor Silicone Grease

More than likely they use silicone grease as waterproof seal and lube so the
sensor wont seize. It dont run when the brakes get real hot either.

You probably dont have the correct spacing gap between sensor and the ABS
teeth on the hub. Some of the replacement sensor have a plastic nub on the
end. You bottom out the sensor, tighten clamp, rotate wheel . .the teeth
knock off the nub . .and you have the correct spacing.

Option I
Mark and remove another sensor. Check the distance between end of sensor and
the mark. Put the sensors side by side and mark new one in same place as old
one.

Use that as the distance you need to install the new sensor at. Install new
sensor with mark showing same way as old sensor.


Option II
1. mark old sensor
2. measure old sensor body end to mounting body
3. loosen clamp
4. push sensor until it contacts the toothed hub
5. measure again same as 2
5. the difference between 5 and 2 is the gap you need for mounting the
sensor
