tricky door locks

In relation to the story of the BMW locking someone inside....
I noticed on the recently acquired A6, if the front doors are locked,
tugging on the handle once unlocks it, the second time locks it again. I
was a little worried about no knobs on the door locks, but then
discovered this mode of operation...Now, about those back doors. I
enabled the child lock and have locked myself in on 2 occasions! Would
have had to climb into the front seat, but the wife was nearby... :-)
