Hi, DJ. If I HAD to trake my car to AAMCO, or Midas, or Firestone, or any
place like that, I'd park the car and walk away from it. I'm a professional
German car tech and shop owner, and I speak with a prejudice born of both
professional and personal experience. Avoid them like the plague. They
don't know our cars, or any other cars, IMO. They specialize in bait &
switch tactics, and their prices are usually MUCH higher in the long run
than a specialty shop. Not only are they unfamiliar with the work, they use
cr*p parts.
In the past I've answered questions like yours with another question:
"Would you trust a shop whose manager was on a first name basis with the
attorney general of your state and the district attorney of your county?"
I'm NOT joking! And I don't mean they're golfing buddies! HTH, John
BTW, you don't need a Bosch Service Center to do a clutch. There are any
number of good repair shops who have chosen not to spend the thousands of
dollars to become one.
If you had, let me emphazise had, to take your car into a shop for a clutch
job would you take it to AAMCO or a VW/Audi Bosch Authorized Service Center
specialist not affiliated with a dealer?
Let me know
DJ
