What they were talking about was economy. The cost difference between gas and clean diesels can't be recouped in 3 years of typical driving. I beg to differ with them that "diesel enthusiasts" are only penny pinchers. I'm interested in the Touareg diesel V-10 because it has good performance without the stigma of a gas-guzzler.
