Hmm, its been a while since I did it, but if I remember correctly I tried
that and it wouldn't come out because of the interference with the lock portion
passing through the dash, it wouldn't allow it to slide out. I could be wrong
though, I ended up pulling the column, but looking back if I could have
acessed it through the opening for the cluster that would have been easiest.
