have one cam/profile available for the 5 cylinders.
I have heard that it would be better to put in a lower rpm cam than
a normally aspirated cam, since n/a cams help higher rpm
breathing at the expense of low rpm torque. This is different than
what our turbos need. So, then why would Blau say that (except
to sell their product)?
If their/my cam (I have a Schrick 272) are not appropriate for a
turbo motor, then are there any factory (or otherwise cheap) cams
that are of the correct profile for an improvement over the stock MC
version? How about some kind of turbo diesel one or something?
There maybe lifter type issues.
I understand valve overlap is undesirable in a turbo engine, since it
will result in blowing boosted fuel mixture out the exhaust valves
and system. Is this bad for power, or just fuel economy and the
environment?
In my 4kstq project, if I run a K24 turbo, would it make any
difference, as far as desirability to run the 272 cam in it? Would it
be better or worse than a K26 running that cam, or not make a
difference because it's just the wrong cam for a turbo, period?
I hope the gist of my questions are coming across.
Thanks,
Ken
