between the cars power lines and the switch. the switch does not run
the window power, it just tells the module what to do. No big deal...
...except that since there is now a sophisticated device involved, it is
easy to allow window operation under other conditions than simply "key
on". Two of the module connections provide inputs for turning "on" the
availability of window function (thus the other window switches get
their power from it, too) and turning "off" the availability.
Stock, this is from "key on" to "door open (either front door - sorta
stupid really). On my coupe I set it to go from "key in" to "door
open", but that's another story.
Anyway, the sunroof is like a window, so they set it up to have power
available under the same conditions - by sourcing its power feed from
"after" the window/roof module. the module does nothing except this for
the sunroof so it can be a mite confusing.
So if your module is screwed up, or your door switches, this will affect
the sunroof as well as the windows, and in the same fashion. Without
really knowing, I suspect the sunroof power *does not* go in and out of
the drivers door, btw, but the window system is so intimately (there's
that word again) associated with the sunroof system that problems with
teh door jamb wiring could probably affect the roof operation.
hope this helps stir the mud up a little!
