that my '88 5kcstq has a 10/87 build date. I suspect that if folks checked
the build dates on their American spec.'88 m.y. type 44's they would find
they were all in built in 1987.

I just saw an '89 model year 100 Quattro with a 3/88 build date. I am
curious about what American model year laws state about what constitues a
particular year. Anyone familiar with the subject?
