Hello,
I may not be able to help, because I don't know exactly what you are describing, but I'll share my expirence. I go to the junkyard a lot and walk the rows. Last time there were 4 audi turbos, 3 had the heads off. Feeling the bores with my finger nail, one had absolutely no wear mark from the part that wears and the part that is above the top ring. This car had 175,000 miles on it and was crashed. The second one had a slight difference that was noticable with my finger. It had something like 110k and was crashed too. The last one had significant bore wear, I could catch my nail on it very easily and feel it with my finger. It had 99k and a siezed turbo, the turbo would not even spin with pliars. Someone obviously did not maintain that engine. That probably doesn't help you too much (sorry) but check the wear with your finger nail and if it seems too much, measure it and check it against what it should be.
