and engineering driven. Its a function of machine set up time, amount and
frequency of QC varying with the steps in the manufacture process. Material
and labor tend to be fixed costs on something like this. We used to make
low volume high precision fasteners for Boeing that made thousand $ toilet
seats look like child's play. For example a panel fastener that we sold for
$1500 that we lost money on.
But without a cost analysis its anyone's guess.
