calloway" style swap for under $300 used, free maybe, not more than $500 I =
can't imagine. That is the beauty of it, get close to $180hp with a few hu=
ndred dollars expense and some quite simple modyfying to fit.
I'd definitely recommend installing an IC, whether the stock 5kt unit or on=
e off another car (look on ebay for example)
I think we've been over the pros and cons of turbo swap as opposed to 2.3 s=
wap, so I don't want to go there too deeply. I agree that the 2.3 swap is =
a good one, probably good for 140-150hp max depending on porting and cam ch=
oices. Bottom line, though, spend an extra week on the conversion and you =
will be rewarded with much more torque and hp than the 2.3 could ever dream=
of. I've done lots of 2.3 swaps, and with the pulling of the motor and su=
ch the calloway style swap really isn't that much more work.
