get the bearing pressed, make sure you can get the ABS sensor out FIRST! I
waited until I had everything else loosened/removed on a Sunday morning with
a four hour drive that night to be back to work on Monday. I had to cut the
wire to the sensor and spent about two hours chiseling the sensor out and
cleaning up the bore. Of course now I don't have ABS until I can get a new
sensor at a reasonable price and have to turn of the ABS everytime I start
the car. I suppose I could just pull the relay but the Gods like to have
you fiddle with as many buttons as possible...I guess it's a form of
caressing!!
Apparently the Audi sensors are notorious for siezing in the carrier (at
least in my climate :-(
Of course, if you don't have ABS, or you sensor is easily removed, it is
much easier to get get the old bearing pressed out and the new one in at a
garage with a hydraulic press. That part only cost me CAN$15.
