Loring Air Force Base....152 more or less. We were a bit concerned about
trucks that we knew were near the far end of the runway. The runway was
more than 13,000 feet long, and I backed off with more than a mile left. It
was very eerie....the runway is three hundred feet wide, and that low to the
ground, there was no visible side reference. The center stripe was very
faint, but still visible, and the roadway was very smooth. The car was still
accelerating when I eased off, so I imagine the Porsche claimed speed limit
of 157 was possible.

Once going north up I95 in Florida, I was cruising about about 80 in the
928, when I saw this car coming up behind me. it was broad daylight on a
Saturday, and there was zero traffic. I was overtaken by a young girl
driving an Oldsmobile something or other...one of those quad cam things, I
guess. She was holding 100-105 and a bit more sometimes. I tucked in
behind here, about a half to a full mile and just cruised along. I averaged
slightly more than 95 to Jacksonville, and dropped back when she turned off.

It was child's play for the 928, but that little Olds was all over the lane.
It was very hot but comfy in the Porsche, with some cool tunes, and cool
air....and relaxed cruising. Just what Zuffenhausen had in mind, I think.
