yes, most definitely.  You have nothing to loose by pleading not
guilty.  I'm going through this myself for a ticket in NY on my way to
the LRP vintage fest... 70 in a 55.  Cop was a no-show but they are
rescheduling for another court date (!) so I guess in NY just because
the cop isn't there on your assigned court date doesn't mean you beat
the ticket...

a $500 ticket is no favor in my book.

you should be able to beat this one.  tickets based on pacing rarely
hold up in court.  Pick up a good book on fighting speeding tickets.. I
got one to help in my case (can't remember the title off hand).  Picked
it up at amazon.com for about $15.
