Exhaust studs - torque setting?

Thats the way I've always done it, too. Because the shoulder on the stud is so
small(compared to a bolt head for example) if the hole is a little deeper than
the studs threaded section is long the you risk mucking up(technical term) the
outer threads in the head with the un-threaded bit of the stud, even with
minimal torque.
