It's probably the outer heim joint on the rear suspension upper control
link - it has the exact symptoms you are describing. Try injecting grease
through the joint boot using one of the hypodermic needle attachments for a
grease gun - it will silence it for a while. If the joint is squeaking, it
needs to be replaced.

Subject: Creaking going over bumps.. Audi 200 10V

Hey guys,
I have a peculiar symptom coming from my rear end. (My car's rear end)
LOL. No but seriously, I own a 89' 200 turbo Quattro 10V and I've lowered
her
via custom wound springs and Audi V8 shocks. I wanted it lower but not too
harsh. But here is the problem, When I go over any bumps the left rear
corner
starts to make creaking noises. It sounds like an old mans rocking chair.
When I'm
driving by with the car it gets a lot of looks. 1 for being different but 2.
for this creaking. I don't know.. I've checked the bushins and such and
nothing. I have the spring dampener there but those are new. Someone let me
know.
