This is because such a swap is not simply an engine change.  It entails
virtually a redesign of the 4000q's underhood arrangements and much of the
engine management electricals.  It's going to cost a pretty good sum to
do and a lot of work.  A change to a good turbo I5 will ultimately yield
better results with less cost and work.

Believe it or not, it would actually be easier to "put" the 1.8T into
a 4-cylinder 4000S, but there is still the problem of all the electricals.
Also, the resultant power increase would make it a handful on a non-quattro
car without ABS and traction control.
