Yaaaaaawn.
Go look at an S55 AMG. 500HP, 0-62.5(not 60, no sir!) in 4.8
seconds. Oh, so you like 12 cylinders, and those superchargers are
bothersome? Okay. The S600. V12, Bi-turbo, 500hp. 4.8 seconds.
How 'bout THEM apples. Mwuhaha.
I've seen one of the S55 AMG's in Boston- it's quite a sight seeing 4
pipes out the back of a big luxury boat like that.
And that's absolutely nothing compared to the engine in the Maybach-
the most powerful production automotive engine in the world; it's
only got 450HP, but it has...
Are you sitting down?
...NINE HUNDRED Newton-Meters of torque. I mean, hot DAMN. The
DELTA between that and a Porsche 911 GT2 (only 620) is more than most
cars on the road have total.
As Top Gear noted- you've got to check the tach to see if the
engine's running, even if you're standing next to it- because it's so
unbelievably quiet while idling. When Jeeves puts the pedal to the
metal- well, it gets up to 150mph faster than you can say "Grey
Poupon"
Still, I liked their review of the Phateon better. "When they found
evidence of life on mars, it was a big deal. But this is bigger.
This proves there are traces of human in the Fatherland. This is the
first ever recorded example- of a German joke. It's a
Volkswagon...that costs sixty five(snickers) thousand(laughs) pounds."
