The coolant temp gauge in the 5KT cluster is indeed driven by one of
the pins on the multi-function temp sensor.  I don't have the Bentley
manual with me at the moment, so can't look at the color coding
of the wires, but you can do so yourself in the wiring diagram.
If your wiring is done correctly and the gauge doesn't work, then
vieleicht das sensor ist kaput.
