Thanks to all who offered assistance. Phil's reference to the actual bolt
torque of 332 ft-lbs is what I needed. This makes the torque wrench length
that Bentley uses just about 42 inches. For my 38 inch torque wrench the
value for in-line torque will be 252 ft-lbs.

Some responded privately to me with questions as to why the torque
multiplies with an extension. Some were confused with the difference between
a force applied one foot from the center vs a torque applied at the same
spot. Hard to explain in text, but you'll have to go back to the physics
books and read some about torque and look at the diagrams. It'll become
obvious.
